The first is of Lingesan (Vikram) obsessing over supermodel Diya (Amy Jackson), who smiles down at him from billboards and through the television and in newspapers. His fascination for her results in some bizarre manifestations like the song sequence where his handset and motorcycle (and even a fish in a supermarket) take Diya’s form.<br/><br/>When he is not being just a tad bit leery, Lingesan trains at Arnold Gym (very subtle nod to his idol) to prepare for the Mr. Tamil competition. When a bulky rival tries to scare him away, Lingesan challenges him to beat him at his game and not ask him to back away like a woman. (Bombast dialogue = 1. Notions of gender = 0). The competition plays with the standard masala humourthroughsongs like ‘Made in India’ and ‘Marhaba’to jolt you out of the staleness-induced stupor.<br/><br/><br/>There is a fight scene after that with a few muscled competitors and the hero, because winning graciously is a lost art on them. After punches and bodies fly thick through the air, there is a moment when the men regroup on the hero to jiggle their moobs at him. That is only beginning of the cringe-worthy scenes that are to follow.<br/>Meanwhile, Diya is constantly badgered by her co-model John (Upen Patel) for a date. She does not comply and he uses his clout to remove her from key assignments. Act 2 has Diya grooming Lingesan into Lee, a more enticing professional counterpart. Here, the makers throw in a transgender makeup artist (Ojas M Rajani), the stereotyping making the most hardened viewer recoil. Act 3 features a gruesome sabotage of the hero’s appearance, which morphs into a revenge drama. Lingesan, seething, disfigured and vengeful, will give it as good as he has gotten.<br/><br/><br/>I may not have an original concept, but a less tiresome execution could have worked immensely in its favour. The beginning may seem made with the quintessential flair of a standard potboiler, but the sequences shot in China are truly breathtaking. This happens in Act 2,when the proceedings are still light and Diya-Lee team up for a perfume advertisement. A fight scene shot on the rooftops, with murderous cyclists, is the only one that stands out in the entire film.<br/>Despite being a love story, the romance angle is uninspired. Diya does not seem drawn to Lingesan, except for his machismo.<br/><br/><br/>The dramatic scenes in the latter half of the film are heavy-handed and replete with ham moments that could give a butcher a complex. Lavishly shot song sequences to dot the narrative, end up stretching the film’s running time and the audience’s patience. Despite some stunning visuals, the songs offer little by way of melody.<br/><br/>Even Santhanam, as Lingesan’s friend, can do little to lighten up the dull story. PT Cruiser was the new age of the Hot Rod coming out. And in this business, most people have a truck for wheel standers, and I wanted to be a little bit different, out of the box. _shocking-moment-staff-member-punches-a-teenage-linesman-to-the-floor-in-a-sudden-mid-game-attack.webp "Shocking footage has emerged capturing the moment that a young linesman was punched in the face by a staff member from a rival football team in North Wales. <br/><br/>The North Wales Coast Football Association match at Amlwch Town saw Clwb Pêl-Droed Penrhyndeudraeth put eight past the hosts in a hugely one-sided affair, however things turned sour soon after the whistle first blew. <br/><br/>With one of the visiting players serving voluntarily as the linesman for the league clash, a figure from the Amlwch staff appeared to strike the player after just 15 minutes of action. <br/><br/>Video footage shows the stunning moment, with two crossing paths on the touchline. <br/><br/>It is not clear whether anything is said between the two, before the Amlwch figure steps up and aims a blow at the linesman's chin, sending him to the ground. <br/><br/>Seemingly stunned for a few seconds, the linesman gets back to his feet as the staff member returns to their bench before Penrhyn boss Riccardo Pellegrino comes over and helps his player up to his feet. <br/><br/>The rest of the Penrhyn squad then come running over to the scene, but Pellegrino prevents any conflict by ushering them away, though the team remains nearby. <br/><br/>One of Pellegrino's assistants appears to talk to the figure that aimed the punch in a bid to calm him down, while other players from the home bench then walk over. <br/><br/>The shocking attack has been reported to North Wales Police, as reported by both the NWCFA and Penrhyn. <br/><br/>The club's statement read: 'A fantastic result and performance from the lads today.<br/><br/>'Unfortunately, the game was marred by an incident which occurred approximately 15 minutes into the game when a Penrhyn player, acting as a voluntary linesman, was assaulted. <br/><br/>'The Club will not be making any further comments but will support the player as the matter has been reported to the police.'<br/><br/>The NWCFA added: 'The North Wales Coast Football Association (NWCFA) is aware of a video circulating on social media about an incident at Amlwch Town FC. This incident is currently being investigated by the police, to which the NWCFA has requested details.<br/><br/>'Whilst this is an ongoing investigation, we would urge people not to share the video or comment as this could impact any investigation.<br/><br/>'The incident will be investigated accordingly on conclusion of the police investigation.'<br/><br/>Penrhyn would go on to win the game 8-0 in a dominant showing in the amateur clash.<br/><br/>Cai Henshaw netted four in the hefty win, while Tom Hughes netted twice and Deio Hughes and Gwion Davis got the other two. <br/><br/>Pellegrino added on Facebook after the incident: 'Your behavior on the pitch after what happened was impeccable, I'm proud to coach this fantastic group of lads.<br/><br/>'I’m proud of all of you COYC.'<br/><br/>The Wales FA CEO confirmed on social media that they are aware of the incident and have condemned the attack.<br/><br/>North Wales Police said: 'We can confirm that we are currently investigating an assault which occurred at Amlwch Town FC’s grounds on Saturday, April 27th")
