Description: Some dogs have had a “ruff” life. But one Peoria woman is dedicating her life to the dogs. Courtney Anderson founded AZK9 Rescue in 2010 with the goal of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and rescuing homeless dogs in Maricopa County. The group primarily focuses on the “underdogs” of the community, including chihuahuas, pitbulls, senior dogs, and dogs with medical issues. AZK9 Rescue has saved more than 600 dogs since it started nine years ago. To donate or volunteer, visit AZK9.org.
