Description: Ospreys are birds of prey that catch fish in the rivers and lochs of Galloway & Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere. They are very large birds, with a wingspan around 180cm, and a sharp, curved beak and talons for tearing their prey. Like many birds of prey in Scotland, ospreys face many challenges due to land use changes and habitat loss, so they are a very special type of bird that the Biosphere and other organisations are working hard to protect.nnnThis video shows an osprey nest at Loch D
