And he has further problems with his former girlfriend Ivy Ridgeway's new husband William Chatford, who is not only suspicious of Edmund's previous relationship with Ivy, but also the cause of Edmund's wife's death. With this threat and the situation with Madeleine, Dr Bickleigh decides that if he can get away with murder once, he can do so a second time.
