The Dallas Cowboys had four picks on the final day of the 2024 NFL Draft:<br/><br/>Round 5 : No. 173 <br/><br/>Round 6 : No. 216<br/><br/>Round 7 : No. 233<br/><br/>Round 7 : No. 244 <br/><br/>Round five : Pick 173 – The Cowboys selected CB Caelen Carson out of Wake Forest. In 2023 Carson played in 11 games and finished with 42 tackles, 29 of them being solo tackles. He led the team with eight pass breakups. <br/><br/>We got to speak to Carson after the pick and he was asked what the Cowboys are getting, “Gritty player. Somebody that is gonna do whatever for the team, play special teams, play nickel, play outside, so you got versatility. And just a competitive dude. I’m competitive by nature. My personality might be quiet but on the field it’s a whole different personality.” Carson told the media.<br/><br/>When asked about playing alongside Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland, Carson stated, “Definitely. I’m ready to learn from those guys. Trevon Diggs, another Maryland guy, I’m from Maryland too so we have that connection right there. I’m just excited to really learn. They’ve got a lot of interceptions together. I’m excited to see how they do that type of stuff, learn from their game and just compete with them.”<br/><br/>Round six : Pick 216 – The Dallas Cowboys selected former SE Missouri State WR Ryan Flournoy. Out ofall the wide receivers, Flournoy produced the fastest GPS time during position drills at the 2024 combine. The WR who did so in 2023? Puka Nacua.<br/><br/>In 2022 Flournoy earned First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors in his first year at Southeast Missouri. He started 11 games at wide receiver and led the team in receiving yards (984), receiving touchdowns (7) and receiving yards per game (89.5). <br/><br/>Round seven : Pick 233 – The Dallas Cowboys selected Nathan Thomas, OT, out of Louisiana. Thomas entered the draft as a redshirt junior, he anchored the left side of the line as a first-year starter at left tackle. Starting in all 13 games and finished with 25 knockdowns. He was also graded 80 percent or better in 11 of the 13 games. <br/><br/>Round seven : Pick 244 – The Dallas Cowboys selected Justin Rodgers the DT out of Auburn. Rogers is a big nose tackle prospect with the size and strength to occupy blockers and help clog up the middle. He has strong hands and can discard blocks quickly. He flashes the ability to push the pocket rushing the passer. He has 17 tackles and 1 sack in 2023, and made seven starts as a senior. <br/><br/>We spoke with GM and owner Jerry Jones after the draft along with head coach Mike McCarthy they told us that these were players that they needed and they are all great fits.

The Dallas Mavericks (2-2) hosting the Los Angeles Clippers (2-2) for game four in American Airlines Center on Sunday afternoon. <br/><br/>The Mavs started off slow and both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving both got into foul trouble early. They both had three fouls going into the half. In the first quarter it was obvious that the Mavs were struggling from the three-point line. They were 0-7 midway through the first and the Clippers started to take a lead. Dallas finished the quarter with zero made threes and shot 25 percent from the floor while the Clippers made 8-of-11 three-pointers 72 percent from the floor. Clippers took a 39-16 lead entering the second quarter. <br/><br/>The second quarter was almost worse than the first, Irving scored two three-pointers, these were the only two three-pointers the Mavs would have entering the half, meanwhile L.A. was shooting lights out. The Clippers hit 13 three’s in the first half. <br/><br/>Clippers took a 66-49 lead into halftime. <br/><br/>The Mavs came out hot in the third quarter and within the first four minutes dropped the Clippers lead down to 10 points. Dallas outscored the Clippers 29-16 in the third quarter bringing the lead down to two. Irving led the Mavs entering the fourth quarter with 26 points. <br/><br/>The Clippers made 16 three-pointers while Dallas only had seven, rebounding was big in this game. Dallas had 40 boards while the Clippers only had 26. That is the only reason they were in this game because L.A. was out shooting them. Clippers finished the night with 18 three-pointers while the Mavs made 11. All of which, except for two, were in the second half. <br/><br/>Dallas’s largest deficit of the night was in the second quarter, they were down 31 points. With this loss the series is now tied 2-2. Dallas will head back to Los Angeles and play the Clippers on Wednesday night at 9 PM. <br/><br/>

Is the “hush workcation” the new vacation trend? Nearly a third of Americans admitted they’ve worked remotely on vacation without telling their bosses.<br/><br/>The poll of 2,000 employed Americans — split evenly among travelers and hotel workers — found 52% of them would use their vacation travels as a chance to work remotely and 29% have done so without notifying anyone at work.<br/><br/>Close to four in 10 (39%) explained it was simply because they like what they do for work. Meanwhile, others would work on vacation to hit an important work deadline that overlapped with their vacation time (28%) or to save on their PTO (26%). <br/><br/>And for many others, traveling for work opens the door to other opportunities: nearly half (48%) have extended their work trips into vacations at their destination.<br/><br/>Commissioned by Mews, a hospitality cloud system, and conducted by OnePoll, the study reveals that four in five working Americans would be willing to work remotely from their hotel. <br/><br/>While working from the comfort of one’s hotel room is the top preference (69%), a quarter of respondents said they would prefer to work remotely from the hotel pool or spa, and nearly 25% chose a hotel bar or restaurant. <br/><br/>Three in four travelers (74%) and hotel workers (75%) agree that Americans are prioritizing travel more this year than last.<br/><br/>Seventy-nine percent are planning all their travels for the year “as soon as they possibly can” and estimate they’ll take a total of 11 trips in 2024.<br/><br/>Among the trips planned are three vacations and three family trips; alongside three work trips and two “bleisure” trips — combining business with leisure — for employed respondents.<br/><br/>Hotel workers are prepared — they claimed guests traveling for work or bleisure are the easiest to cater to (83% and 76%, respectively). They anticipate the guests will tip more (39%), extend their stay more frequently (38%), and use hotel amenities more (31%) in the year ahead. <br/><br/>Nearly a third of guests stated a perfect hotel would have keyless room entry (34%) and in-room smart home devices (43%) and nearly one-fourth would prefer mobile room entry (27%) and digital ordering (24%). <br/><br/>The study also found that hotel workers anticipate guests to use technology more in 2024, with a fourth expecting them to check in more frequently via a hotel website, app or digital kiosk compared to previous years. <br/><br/>More than 40% of travelers stated they prefer to check in via a hotel’s website, app or digital kiosk, and nearly 80% said they would be willing to stay at a hotel that had a completely automated front desk or self-service kiosk. <br/><br/>A third (36%) admitted they have turned to AI for recommendations while booking travel.
