![Shortly after declaring himself as the new Caliph in Kufa, Saffah sent Khorasan’s army to fight against the Umayyads under the leadership of Marwan II. The two armies met at the Battle of Zaab in Northern Iraq, and the Umayyads were defeated even though they outnumbered the Khorasan army. The main reason for their defeat was Marwan II’s strategic mistake to pass his troops over a temporary bridge on the Zaab River, then destroying the bridge upon his initial defeat by Khorasan’s army. Surprisingly, these opponents of the Prophet acquired the government over the Prophet’s followers, and established the first monarchy after him. The Umayyads were not only looking out for their own interests, but also used every opportunity to eliminate the true teachings of the Prophet. Diego Sanchez and Joshua Fabia were out celebrating because Diego had been signed for his fight against Jake Matthews in Abu Dhabi. <br/><br/>While they were out Diego Sanchez spots two of his high school friends James Raborn and Nick Warren. Diego invites them over to his and Joshua’s table. Diego asks Joshua to tell the two friends a story. As Joshua is telling this story he illustrates it with James Raborn. Raborn is sitting and Joshua is standing. Suddenly, without provocation Raborn then grabs Joshua’s arm and wraps himself around Joshua in a triangle choke. As they both fall to the ground Joshua’s leg is trapped underneath Raborn’s chair. All of the ligaments get torn in Joshua’s knee, he ends up having internal bleeding, and one of his bones gets fractured. <br/><br/>Joshua has to stay in the hospital for two days with the possibility of amputation.
